Together we raised $40,000 for Make-A-Wish Eastern Ontario. The weather was amazing and the kids were out in full force enjoying the golf and many other fun activities. Special thanks to all the families that came out, the volunteers and the many organizations that took part – RY-J’s Climbing Adventures, Little Ray’s Reptile Zoo, Ottawa Champions, Executive Golf, Ottawa Firefighters and Paramedics, Barry’s Home Hardware, Metcalfe Golf Club and Innovapost.

Be sure to mark July 24th, 2016 on your calendars as this is the date for the Kids Playing it Forward Event next year.

Stay tuned to further updates and thanks again to everyone who joined us this year!

2015 Playing It Forward Event Details

This is a very unique annual fundraising event which aims to teach children the concept of paying it forward in our community. Parents and their children enjoy a fun day of golf and activities – all while raising funds to grant another child’s wish. Parents and their children can choose from 3, 5, or 9 holes of golf or can opt to just enjoy the “Fun Day” activities on location throughout the day. A BBQ will be served towards the end of the event. Prizes and awards will be presented at the closing ceremonies. Download the PDF Pledge sheet

Background

Kids Playing it Forward for wishes supports our belief that golf is not only a tremendous vehicle to encourage family activity, but also a game which children can enjoy for the rest of their lives. This event helps instill the Paying it Forward mindset into children at a young age. The children that have participated in the past have gained an understanding of how fortunate they are and have gained an awareness for what they can do to make a difference in the lives of other children.

Questions?

Q) Is there an age limit for kids to participate?
A) We have had kids as young as 3 play golf, it is a parent decision, however we would recommend 5 & under play 3 holes, & 6 to 7 play 3 or 5 holes.

Q) Do we need golf clubs?
A) Clubs will be provided – Adults cost $10 and kids are Free. Please email info@metcalfegolf.com to reserve clubs.
