What inspired this event and how did it begin?
Innovapost is a proud supporter of Make-a-Wish® Eastern Ontario and of its dedication to bring hope and happiness to children with life-threatening medical conditions. In 2008, a small team of Innovapost employees received a call to action from their CEO at the time, Brendan Timmins. “Create an event that raises money for families and children in need through active participation.”
From this call, Innovapost founded an event that began as a picnic and fun-run with 50 people in 2008, to a yearly organized walk/run event that supports Make-A-Wish® Eastern Ontario. To date we have raised over $250,000 and granted over 20 wishes. On April 28, 2013, Innovapost’s ‘Share the Power of a Wish® Walk/Run’ hopes to add to this growing achievement by raising enough money to grant 7+ wishes.
